Battle Dance - 1 Malaysia Solo Dance @ Putrajaya

"The Dancer believes that his art has something to say which cannot be expressed in words or in any other way than by dancing... there are times when the simple dignity of movement can fulfill the function of a volume of words. There are movements which impinge upon the nerves with a strength that is incomparable, for movement has power to stir the senses and emotions, unique in itself. This is the dancer's justification for being, and his reason for searching further for deeper aspects of his art." ~Doris Humphrey, 1937.

Madonna Stays in Shape With Ashtanga Yoga Workouts

“Yoga is a metaphor for life. You have to take it really slowly. You can’t rush. You can’t skip to the next position. You find yourself in very humiliating situations, but you can’t judge yourself. You just have to breathe, and let go. It is a workout for your mind, your body and your soul.” Madonna. To read.....more

STREET YOGA @ Bintang Walk Kuala Lumpur

INSPIRATION TO DO SOMETHING EXTRA-ORDINARY
"STREET YOGA"
BINTANG WALK KUALA LUMPUR
Saturday Night 13th NOV 2010
Time: 10pm - 12am
A day earlier, we went to Bintang Walk area for Dinner just to check out the lighting for our next day photo shoot of Street Yoga and which are the best location for it!
Here we are. This is what we've got. These two phrases are beautifully refined comments that very accurately express the essence of our existence on this planet. While many people back away from taking responsibility for their own happiness or unhappiness, we don't have to be like the many. We can look at our lives realistically and take what we have and who we are for exactly what it's worth a lot and make our time here on this planet much easier on us. And if we do that, we can contribute to making the time easier for everyone else with whom we come into contact. It truly is up to us.
We’re all doing time. As soon as we get born, we find ourselves assigned to one little body, one set of desires and fears, one family, city, state, country, and planet. Who can ever understand exactly why or how it comes down as it does? The bottom line is, here we are. Whatever, wherever we are, this is what we’ve got. It’s up to us whether we do it as easy time or hard time.
Quoate by Bo Lozoff
Positive thinking is not the destination; it is the journey. An optimistic person will be constantly challenged by external circumstances as well as inner fears and doubts. Always remember that these tests are like a ladder you must climb. As you move past each rung, your optimism strengthens and your confidence begins to flex newly found muscle that you might never have developed otherwise.
Quote by Montague Ewards
We had our dinner here, before we go check out location and lighting for Saturday night shoot!
White Rajah Borneo Cafe @ Bintang Walk a good place for tourist to experience authentic Malaysian food. Immediately upon entering the restaurant, you will notice a white plank wall adorned with gardening tools and plants, reinforcing the impression of a large garden shed. White wooden trellises can be found througout the cafe, light coloured furniture and and finishing completes it. To read......more
Positive thinking is a constant attention to the details that make up an average day, with the knowledge that how you live this moment may reflect on the rest of your life.
Quoted by Jason Rogerson
After dinner we went and look out for good location and lighting area, preparing for tomorrow Street Yoga photo shoot
I like the signboard area but no space to take photo

If we shift our mindset to seeing the possibilities in every circumstance, we will find that obstacles truly are opportunities, even if they force us to go down another road that we might not have gone down otherwise. Opposition is important in our lives, kites wouldn't be able to stay aloft without it, yet we tend to avoid it or see it as something negative.

If we are to be able to "finesse every obstacle into an opportunity," we have to be able to allow ourselves to see those obstacles differently. It really does come down to how we see things, and the realistic person will see opportunity in almost everything that comes his or her way in life. Nature has given to each conscious being every power she possesses, and one of these abilities is this: just as Nature converts and alters every obstacle and opposition, and fits them into their predestined place, making them a part of herself, so too the rational person is able to finesse every obstacle into an opportunity, and to use it for whatever purpose it may suit.
Quoted by Marcus Aurelius

I get very sad for people who refuse to take risks, justifying their refusal by saying that even if they succeed, they'll just lose whatever success they have and be right back where they started before long. These people don't allow themselves to taste success at all, and because they don't have the memory of any success in their minds, they find no motivation to try to succeed later. As Rene says below, the memory of previous successes often drives us to take other risks in other fields as our lives go on, and success thus builds on success, making our lives richer and fuller.

"Why bother in the first place?" Because we need to know, we need to know our possibilities and our limitations, so that we can build on the former and find ways of compensating for the latter. And so that we can stand on the summit and experience the view and the clear air and the sense of accomplishment that comes from reaching it.

Coming back down is only a drag if we have the unrealistic expectation of staying at the summit for very long periods of time, that just can't happen. Life is about ups and downs, peaks and valleys, and many valleys are just as beautiful as mountaintops, in fact, they tend to be prettier because they have more life to them. While mountain peaks tend to be barren and empty of life, valleys tend to have running water, plants and trees and flowers, and lots of animal life.

The "lower regions" aren't at all negative, except for someone who wants to live only in the heights. We should enjoy them just as much as we ever enjoy the peaks.

You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. . . . So why bother in the first place? Just this: what is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer but one has seen. There is an art to conducting oneself in the lower regions by the memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least still know.
Quoted by Rene Daumal

Success is going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.
Sir Winston Churchill

Everything Change
If you realize that all things change, there is nothing you will try to hold onto. Think of my past and try to dwell on the goodtimes, happy moments, and not to be haunted by the bad. The gift of life is contained in the command, whatever happens “Don’t let it get you. Just keep on going.” Think of the good that you have already experienced and what will still be coming. There's something special for everyone to do.
No experience is a bad experience unless you gain nothing from it.
Let go of your expectations. The universe will do what it will. Sometimes your dreams will come true. Sometimes they won't. Sometimes when you let go of a broken dream, another one gently takes its place. Be aware of what is, not what you would like to be, taking place.
Quoted by Melody Beattie
If we face our unpleasant feelings with care, affection, and nonviolence, we can transform them into a kind of energy that is healthy and has the capacity to nourish us. By the work of mindful observation, our unpleasant feelings can illuminate so much for us, offering us insight and understanding into ourselves and society.
Quote by Thich Nhat Hanh
Life isn't about winning, it's about trying and learning from the effort. Many people win medals in the Olympic games, but many more go home without gold, silver, or bronze. But their goals have brought them to the possibility of at least competing in the Olympic Games, putting them among the very elite athletes in the world. When they get there and they try their best, well, isn't that enough? They've taken many risks to get where they are, always knowing in the back of their minds that they might not get there. They've done their best, win or lose, and that's what matters.
I learned.. . that inspiration does not come like a lightning bolt, though we must regularly and every day give it a little chance to start flowing, prime it with a little solitude and idleness. The world will freely offer itself to you to be unmasked. It has no choice, it will roll in ecstasy at your feet.

Inspiration is in all of us. It's not a bolt of lightning from heaven, but a part of ourselves that lies dormant for a very long time until the conditions are right for it to make its way into the light and we're the only ones who can make the conditions right for our own inspiration to affect us.

Our inspiration lies in us like a spring of clear, pure water that can't make its way out until we prepare a way for it. Inspiration doesn't just happen, it takes work. Inspiration isn't for just a select few, it's in all of us.
Let yours out and allow it to affect your life in beautiful ways!
Self Acceptance
You are a child of the universe, history of creation, there has never been anyone like you. Accept this reality about yourself, you're special, unique human being who has a place on this earth that no one else can fill. Acknowledge yourself, this healthy self-love will form the foundation of a joyful and satisfying life. Love and accept yourself, your inner light will shine outward to bless and heal your fellow human beings.

Religion is to be used as a stepping stone to God but it must never be used as a tower to hold one aloft from others. We are all cells in the body of humanity. When anyone attempts to isolate another, they only isolate themselves more. But I also see the world of religion. I see some of my brothers and sisters trying to be religious without being fully human. They seem a little rigid and narrow at times, wanting to be holy, but not human. They seem to be winning a place in heaven, without realizing or enjoying the beauty of earth. They keep the ten commandments, but their observance looks so joyless. Such a world seems small and the air in that world is small. Seek out that particular mental attribute which makes you feel most deeply and vitally alive, along with which comes the inner voice which says, “This is the real me,” and when you have found that attitude, follow it. I shall try to remember all this day that I am a divine creation with infinite possibilities

Almost any intense emotion may open our “inward eye” to the beauty of reality. Falling in love is on of it. For other it might be the beauties of nature or the exhilaration of artistic creation. Some high experience may momentarily stretch our souls up on tiptoe, so that we catch a glimpse of that marvelous beauty which is always there, but which we are not often tall enough to perceive. Nourish your soul, enjoy the beauty  of flowers and songs, snowflakes and smiles, acts of great courage, laughter between friends, a job well done, the smell of fresh-baked bread. It must only be seen to begin helping us.
The ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak. When one begins to practice simplicity, the ego is deprived of the very strategy by which it sustains itself. Nothing will deflate the ego more effectively than to be recognized for what it is. It lives by pretension. It dies when the mask is torn away and the stark reality is exposed to the gaze of others. Simplicity also avails in braking the tyranny of things. Ostentation, artificiality, ornamentation, pretentious style, luxury of all require things. One requires few things to be one’s self, one’s age, and one’s moral, intellectual, or spiritual stature. What one is does not depend upon what one has.

God’s love is just like the sun, constant and shining for us all. And just as the earth rotates around the sun, it is the natural order for us to move away for a season, and then to return closer, but always within the appropriate time.
Quoted by Betty J. Eadie

Life does have marrow, it does have a deeper essence that's invisible to us when we're caught up in the material things and possessions that keep us distracted. There's a lot to be said for trying to find that essence and allowing ourselves to embrace simplicity as a way of life. It's possible to have too much in life. Too many clothes jade our appreciation for new ones; too much money can put us out of touch with life; too much free time can dull the edge of the soul. We need sometimes to come very near the bone so that we can taste the marrow of life rather than its superfluities.

Life is short and we never have enough time for gladdening the hearts of those who travel the way with us. Oh, be swift to love! Make haste to be kind! All the kindness which a person puts out into the world works on the heart and thoughts of humankind.

Acceptance of one's life has nothing to do with resignation; it does not mean running away from the struggle. On the contrary it means accepting it as it comes. . . . To accept is to say yes to life in its entirety.
Quoted by Paul Tournier
Contentment. . . comes as the infallible result of great acceptances, great humilities, of not trying to make ourselves this or that (to conform to some dramatized version of ourselves), but of surrendering ourselves to the fullness of life, of letting life flow through us.
Quoted by David Grayson

Nothing in this world is a given. Even though there are many things that we can predict with a high degree of accuracy, there are many more things that we'll be wrong about. Every year thousands of small businesses start and fail within a short amount of time. Athletes aren't chosen in drafts or are cut from teams because they're not quite good enough. Relationships end, banks foreclose on houses, movies and records and books are released just to do horrible business.

We all have the potential to fail, and there's nothing wrong with that. But when we don't recognize the possibility of failure and neglect to plan for that potential, we may just leave ourselves hanging out in the wind without any sort of protection at all. If we don't acknowledge the fact that we may fail, we may set our sights a bit lower than we otherwise would, or we may not work as hard to make something work because we assume success and therefore don't need to do much work.
You must accept that you might fail; then, if you do your best and still don’t win, at least you can be satisfied that you’ve tried. If you don’t accept failure as a possibility, you don’t set high goals, you don’t branch out, you don’t try, you don’t take the risk.
Quote by Rosalynn Carter

Failure is a reality; we all fail at times and it’s painful when we do. But it’s better to fail while striving for something wonderful, challenging, adventurous and uncertain than to say, “I don’t want to try, because I may not succeed completely.”
Quoted by Jimmy Carter
Thinking like a winner means not always having to defeat someone else. It means being able to grow from a situation in which you fail to reach your goal. It involves not demanding perfection from yourself in every single thing you do, but, instead, thinking of yourself as perfect and thus capable of growing. It means reminding yourself that perfection doesn’t mean staying the same; it means being able to allow yourself to grow. Thinking as a winner means not coming down on yourself; it means refusing to allow self-repudiating thoughts into your head. It involves pushing out the inclination to evaluate yourself in comparison with others, and giving yourself permission to be the unique person you are.
We all have within us a deep sense of what we need, and what is right and true for us. To access this we need to pay attention to our feelings and our intuition. We need to learn to listen deeply to ourselves and to trust what we hear. And we need to risk acting on what we feel to be true. Even if we make mistakes, we must do this in order to learn and grow.
Quoted by Shakti Gawain

Giving and receiving are opposite sides of the same coin. Receiving entails trust in our own value and our having respect for the giver. By receiving we reinforce the giver and are ourselves supported and affirmed by the gift. In this way we participate in life’s goodness and assist in its flourishing. There are times in our lives when the only way we can give back is to receive
More often than not, we're taught to "banish" unpleasant feelings because of course, they make us feel bad. So let's get rid of them, get them out of our lives and out of our minds and out of our hearts so that we can live healthy, positive, pleasant lives.
But what if there's something to learn from those unpleasant feelings? What if the fear that we're feeling has a deeper message? What if the discomfort we have when we're in the presence of a particular person has something to teach us about our own prejudices, biases, or instinct? Ignoring the feeling and trying to push it away will do nothing to help us to learn whatever it is that the feeling is trying to teach us.
It would be much like going to a class and disliking the content, and thus never reading the text because we didn't like it. We may avoid more unpleasant feelings of dislike by avoiding the text, but what have we learned? Of course, we've learned nothing, and we've made an obvious choice to learn nothing.
Unpleasant feelings can be a part of who we are. When they're caused by something specific, they can be a part of us for as long as that something is a part of our lives. But what can we learn from them? How can we face those feelings and accept them and actually learn to care for them, no matter how unpleasant they are? Until we find out how we can do so, we may be losing some of the most important lessons of our lives by trying to banish the unpleasant feelings just to feel a bit better in the moment.

Total freedom is never what one imagines and, in fact, hardly exists. It comes as a shock in life to learn that we usually only exchange one set of restrictions for another. The second set, however, is self-chosen, and therefore easier to accept.
Quoted by Anne Morrow Lindbergh

As I grow older, I find it fascinating to realize just how negative I've always seen words like "restriction." When we're young, we tend to rebel against anything that restricts our freedoms, thinking that any such thing limits the possibilities that we have to do what we want, when we want to do it. Only later do we realize that many of the things that we wanted to do would have been very bad, if not disastrous for us and that the restrictions that we faced were actually meant to help us and actually did so.

Love is a force. . . . It is not a result; it is a cause. It is not a product. It is a power, like money, or steam or electricity. It is valueless unless you can give something else by means of it.
Quoted by Anne Morrow Lindbergh

Love will find a way. Indifference will find an excuse.
