However commitment is the key! In order to see the results of Pilates, we recommend that you practise at least twice per week. When practised regularly your body will feel more responsive to the training and Pilates will help you to:

Keat studied Psychology initially but found himself interested in the arts so he subsequently took a Diploma in Acting. Following some movement classes and an advice from a ballet teacher, he took up Yoga and Pilates as a way to strengthen his body. Keat began his journey with Polestar Pilates in 2007 and is now a certified instructor in Studio, Allegro, and Mat. He also passed his Gyrokinesis® exam last year and is now studying Gyrotonic® Expansion System. He is very interested in human movement and psychology and hopes to further his study in these areas in the future. When he is not in studio, he can be found sometimes on stage getting annoyed by actors as a director, or annoying directors as an actor!

Keat believes in the fundamentals of Pilates in a one-to-one session to provide safe and effective movement patterns. Once this is achieved he likes to challenge his clients and give them a good workout in a more athletic environment like a group reformer class or a TRX® class.

By exercising regularly, he hopes that his clients will follow Joseph Pilates' advice "the first requisite of happiness is physical happiness" and in doing so achieving mental and physical happiness.

Sherlyn chanced upon Pilates while doing a Performing Arts Course (dance) in Australia in 2001. The method not only helped to improve her balance and posture in dancing, it also helped her with her scoliosis. She then decided to become a Pilates instructor in the hope of touching others’ lives through the movement. Sherlyn is also testimony to how Pilates has helped her avoid back pains common in pregnancy and how it helped her regain her pre-pregnancy weight quickly.

She is a strong believer in the huge potential and great benefits this method could have for fitness enthusiasts, pre/post-natal women, elite athletes and people undergoing rehabilitation. She also takes pride in creating tailor-made programs to develop each client’s core strength and correct muscular imbalances and helping them towards improving their body awareness and alignment.

Sherlyn is fully certified with Pilates International (Australia), the Centre for Women’s Fitness (USA) as a Pre/Post-Natal Pilates Specialist, and Polestar Pilates (USA). She is also a Polestar Mentor, helping to train aspiring instructors in their certification process and also providing continuous guidance to graduates in their Pilates training journey.

Like many, Karen joined a gym for the first time in 2004, thinking she would learn about keeping fit and staying healthy. But that was not all she learnt. She discovered and fell in love with Pilates, and its mind and body connection concept. For the next 2 years, Karen diligently practiced Pilates and was subsequently offered a position of Apprentice Instructor by a Pilates studio in Damansara Heights.

She then enrolled for a Polestar Series training course with Sky Pilates Studio in Singapore, and became a certified full studio Pilates instructor in 2009. With hundreds of hours of study, self-practice and mentoring under her belt, Karen has a strong understanding that her clients’ mind and body connection is of utmost priority when she imparts her Pilates teaching to them.
